A wonderful respite from the pouring rain, the owner of this small distillery called Copperhead Mountain, in the teeny town of Travelers Rest, South Carolina happily welcomed us into his tasting room. We were the only ones there- his last visitors of the day.
Over chats of Austin, Texas & Willie Nelson with Stevie Ray Vaughn guitar pangs from the stereo quilting us in, my companion & I sampled 4 or their top notch made-in-house liquid libations.
My personal favorite was their “Copper Explosion” moonshine whiskey & bought a bottle to take home with me.
I especially loved that all their brews are made in copper stills & each and every bottle is hand initialed by the distiller (the owner) himself– that gives them all that extra little touch of love & magic.
I definitely recommend a visit to this family-owned & run distillery to sample their high quality & unique handcrafted whiskeys & vodkas- that are so pure you can sip generously without the fear of headaches or hangovers the next day.
