Bobo & GVB, Bald Mountain, South Carolina

This graffiti covered rock face offers unparalleled views of the South Carolina foothills & gorgeous Table Rock.

Located just off the roadside, you don’t even have to hike to take in the magic of this little mountaintop oasis.

Where: Bald Rock

Location: 1 hour from Asheville, NC, or 40 minutes from Greenville, SC – just off Hwy 11 (Cherokee Foothills Scenic Highway) in upstate South Carolina (just put Bald Rock Heritage Preserve into your GPS)

Time: allow up to 1 hour – take lots of photos, have a picnic lunch, meditate, take in the views 🙂

Bonus: Another roadside beauty, Wildcat Branch Falls, is located just 3.5 miles away– so be sure to stop there as well!

Sadly, it’s worth noting that there was so much broken glass on this mountaintop that I was worried GVB would cut her paws!

Also, though I won’t argue it looks cool, the graffiti is actually very harmful to the plants and animals here and is prohibited so do your part for nature by simply admiring and leaving not a trace!

Tell me – What’s your favorite lookout spot in South Carolina? I wanna know so I can go there! 🙂
